Editorial Policy

The Atlanta IMC does remove articles from the newswire. Hidden articles can be seen by clicking here. If email contact info is given with an article, we will write the person with an explanation as to why it was removed. We also add a comment at the bottom of each removed post. Posts can be hidden for any of the following reasons: No commercial postings or advertisements, organization advertisements, and announcements that are not part of a full press release. We encourage announcements to ve placed on the calendar. No content-empty posts. This includes posts with only a summary or URL, posts that are smalltalk or flamewars, and posts that are indecipherable. No slander or libel. This requires the approval of three of the members of the collective to hide. Though the Atlanta IMC cannot take on the full burden of proving libel or slander, reports that contain obvious unsubstantiated malicious accusations will be removed. If your article is removed for this reason, we encourage you to contact us to appeal the decision. If you can footnote your material and prove true your claims, your article will be returned to the newswire. Please keep in mind that this clause is used with the utmost caution and restraint. No death threats. No articles, comments, or other posts that attack human rights or dignity. This requires the approval of three of the members of the collective to hide. If an article is removed for this reason, it must be noted as comment to the hidden article, and an alert email sent to the Atlanta list. Any article removal for this reason may be appealed to the full collective (process to be defined)
